Tire Manufacturer Transaction Completed, Expected To Increase Ranking
On May 2nd, Yokohama Rubber announced the completion of its acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel System (TWS).
After the merger, both parties established a new company called "Yokohama TWS" to operate.
The performance of the Trelleborg wheel system will be included in Yokohama Rubber's financial report for the second quarter of this year.
Yokohama Rubber pointed out that this transaction is an important part of its mid-term development and transformation plan. The company's sales ratio of passenger and commercial tires has reached 1:1.
According to data, Trelleborg Wheel System specializes in non highway tires with an annual sales revenue of 1.18 billion euros.
In March 2022, Yokohama Rubber launched an acquisition to expand its commercial tire business. The total amount of this transaction is 2.1 billion euros (approximately 14.68 billion yuan).
The transaction was originally scheduled to be completed in the second half of that year, but it has been postponed until now due to review issues in various countries.
In 2022, Yokohama Rubber's revenue was approximately RMB 43.97 billion, ranking eighth in the world.
After acquiring Trelleborg tires, the company's ranking is expected to improve.
