Large Tire Factory, Completing Phase II Expansion
According to recent reports from foreign media, Goodyear has completed the expansion of the Slovenian tire factory.
The project was launched in January 2019, and the first phase was implemented in the same year. The second phase was originally scheduled to be completed in early 2022, but has been postponed due to the impact of the epidemic. Its total investment reached 94 million euros and two new factories equipped with new equipment were built.
At the same time, the number of employees in this factory has increased by 160 and the production capacity has increased by 25%.
After the project is completed, it can produce 1.8 million 17-19 inch high-end sedan tires annually. Goodyear stated that after 2015, the demand for large diameter tires in Europe has been on the rise.
According to data, the Goodyear Slovenia factory was established in 1998 with a total investment of 384 million euros.
At present, this factory has become one of the largest and most successful enterprises in the country.
Between 1998 and 2018, 1700 employees were employed here and approximately 130 million tires were produced.
